The Individual mandate, effective from January 1, 2020, requires most Vermont residents over the age of 18 to acquire health insurance coverage and submit their 2023 tax forms. This verifies whether or not they maintained ACA compliant insurance during the 2022 tax year.
Currently, Vermont has not implemented any penalty for individuals who fail to maintain
ACA-compliant health insurance coverage
The Employer Responsibility for Vermont’s Individual Health Care
Vermont has yet to officially release any additional reporting requirements for employers. Currently, employers are only required to report information to the State in the event that the federal ACA reporting requirements are eliminated.
